  3. To install, run SETUP.EXE in the root directory of the CD-ROM
  4. and follow the on-screen instructions.

  9. Remove the entire contents of the install directory (eg c:\tdmcoll01) and
  10. all its subdirectories. Then remove the Collection 2001 item from your
  11. Start menu (Start|Programs): delete the relevant Collection 2001 shortcut
  12. file in the Windows\start menu\programs directory.

  17. If you wish to install the Collection 2001 files manually,
  18. do the following:
  19.  
  20. 1. Create a directory on your hard disk (eg c:\tdmcoll01): the
  21. install directory.
  22.  
  23. 2. Copy the entire contents of the root directory of the CD-ROM
  24. into the install directory, but NOT the subdirectories.
  25.  
  26. 3. Copy the entire CONTS subdirectory of the CD-ROM into a CONTS
  27. subdirectory of the install directory (eg c:\tdmcoll01\conts).
  28.  
  29. 4. Copy the entire BONUS subdirectory of the CD-ROM, but NOT the
  30. subdirectories, into a BONUS subdirectory of the install directory
  31. (eg c:\tdmcoll01\BONUS).
  32.  
  33. 5. If you do NOT want to install the companion disk files onto
  34. your hard disk, copy the entire DISKS subdirectory of the CD-ROM,
  35. but NOT the subdirectories, into a DISKS subdirectory of the install
  36. directory (eg c:\tdmcoll01\DISKS). The files you have copied are
  37. the source code cross reference files; if you choose not to copy
  38. all the companion disk files then you will need to insert the CD-ROM
  39. when you want to access these files.

  43. If you DO want to install the companion disk files onto your hard disk,
  44. copy the entire DISKS subdirectory of the CD-ROM, INCLUDING the
  45. subdirectories, into a DISKS subdirectory of the install directory
  46. (eg c:\tdmcoll01\DISKS).

  48. 6. If you DO want to install the article files onto your hard disk,
  49. copy the entire PDF subdirectory (and its subdirectories) of the CD-ROM
  50. into a PDF subdirectory of the install directory (eg c:\tdmcoll01\PDF).
  51. If you choose not to copy all the article files then you will need to
  52. insert the CD-ROM when you want to access these files.

  54. 7. Remove the read-only attribute from the installed files. From the
  55. DOS prompt, with the install directory as the current directory, type:
  56.  
  57. ATTRIB -R *.* /S
  58.  
  59. The CD browser, TDMBrowse, will NOT work fully unless you do this.
  60.  
  61. 8. Run TDMBROWSE.EXE from the install directory and choose Options on the
  62. menu. Set up the options as described in the Help.
